São Gabriel is a city in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil. Its story begins around 1750, with the emergence of the first Jesuits; called the Seven People of the Missions. Situated in the region Central Campaign, near the border with Uruguay, is bathed by the Vacacaí river. Has an estimated population of 65,000 people. It is considered a historic city in Rio Grande do Sul, known as the last stronghold of the carters and where it was fought the famous Battle of Caiboaté; when the great indian leader Sepe Tiarajú died in battle fighting against the Portuguese and Spanish ocupation.
São Gabriel é um município brasileiro do estado do Rio Grande do Sul, extremo sul do Brasil. Sua história começa por volta de 1750, com o surgimento das primeiras estâncias jesuíticas, dos Sete Povos das Missões.
Situado na região da Campanha Central do estado, próximo da fronteira com o Uruguai, é banhada pelo curso do rio Vacacaí. Sua população estimada é de 65 mil pessoas. É considerada uma cidade histórica do interior do Rio Grande do Sul, conhecida como o último reduto dos carreteiros e aonde travou-se a famosa Batalha do Caiboaté; quando o grande líder guarani Sepé Tiarajú morreu em combate lutando contra as forças luso-espanholas.

O Solar da Vó Cessa is located in the city center, close to a preservation area of Native Forest in the region, called Sanga da Bica. It offers wide range of exotic and native plants and medicinal trees mainly as “Açoita Cavalo”, “Pata de Vaca”, “Chá de Bugre” e “Araticum”.
The original house was built in 1927, as well as several examples of local architecture during a time of economic growth of the city. The project includes the restoration of the original architectural features of this house, seeking to recue the historical values of vernacular architecture.
O Solar da Vó Cessa fica no centro da cidade, próxima a Sanga da Bica, área de preservação da Mata Nativa da região. Dispõe de grande diversidade de plantas exóticas e nativas e principalmente arvores medicinais como “Açoita Cavalo”, “Pata de Vaca”, “Chá de Bugre” e “Araticum”.
A edificação existente foi construida em 1927, assim como vários exemplares da arquitetura local, durante uma época de crescimento econômico da cidade. O projeto prevê a restauração das características arquitetônicas originais da casa, buscando a valorização das construções de época.
CONCEPT | CONCEITO
The project intent is to provide a comfortable resting place for people interested in experiencing the routine of a traditional inland family, enjoy the typical cuisine of the region and make eco-tourism in the best possible way.
Therefore, the Solar takes its name from Grandmather Cessa, family matriarch that keept this old house, where the children grew up appreciating the local culture, without losing sight of a collaborative world.
We seek a systemic view of the relationship between the visitors and the community, between the community and the city built.
We seek the development of local potential, awakening in the community the values of its environmental and cultural heritage, to promote exchange of knowledge among visitors, preserving the environment around us and keeping alive the local culture.
A intenção do projeto é oferecer um local confortável de descanso para pessoas interessadas em vivenciar a rotina de uma família tradicional do interior do estado, desfrutar da gastronomia típica da região e fazer turismo ecológico da melhor maneira possível.
Por isso, o Solar leva o nome da Vó Cessa, matriarca da família que mantem a antiga casa, aonde as crianças cresceram valorizando a cultura local, sem perder a visão de um mundo colaborativo.
Buscamos uma visão sistêmica das relações, entre os visitantes e a comunidade, entre a comunidade e a cidade construída.
Procuramos o desenvolvimento dos potenciais locais, despertando na comunidade os valores do seu patrimônio ambiental e cultural, a fim de promover trocas de conhecimento entre os visitantes, preservando o ambiente que nos cerca e mantendo viva a cultura local.
O SOLAR
The Solar da Vó Cessa offers accommodation for couples and children with the comfort of a traditional home combined with contemporary language of lofts.
The colonial house has access by General Marques street, straight to the heart of the home; ample living room with fireplace and webspace, which meets three bedrooms.
The contemporary annex bioconstruction building, offers guests the possibility of independent entrance from Alfredo Pereira street, coming into the open recreation area. Visitors will experience the comfort of a thermoacoustic biobuilding with lots of privacy; there are 2 lofts with living rooms that can be unified and 2 suites double and single.
Between the two buildings we have collective spaces for cooking, eating, service areas and bathroom, fed by an ecological corridor - which works as a natural air conditioning - with access to productive garden, full of native aromas and flavors.
O Solar da Vó Cessa oferece hospedagem para casais e filhos com o conforto de uma casa tradicional aliada a linguagem contemporânea dos lofts.
O casarão de estilo colonial apresenta acesso pela Rua General Marques, direto ao coração da casa; um amplo espaço de estar com lareira e webspace, que atende aos três dormitórios.
O anexo contemporâneo de construção em terra, oferece aos hóspedes a possibilidade de entrada independente pela Rua Alfredo Pereira, chegando na área de lazer aberta. Os visitantes poderão vivenciar o conforto termoacústico de uma bioconstrução, com muita privacidade; são 2 lofts com salas de estar que podem ser unificadas e 2 suítes de casal e solteiro.
Entre as duas construções temos os espaços coletivos, de cozinha tradicional, copa, áreas de serviço e banheiro social, alimentados por um corredor ecológico - que funciona como ar condicionado natural - com acesso ao jardim produtivo, cheio de aromas e sabores nativos.
